I am a third-year student studying Mathematics at the University of Surrey and have always had an interest in wildlife photography. A few years ago I raised £500 for the RSPB by selling greetings cards with my photos on and won the Thomson Habitats Photography Competition.

Hello Robert, your Darters are Common rather than Ruddy. One way to identify them is that Common Darter has yellow stripes down the legs where as Ruddy Darter has all black legs.
