I am a third-year student studying Mathematics at the University of Surrey and have always had an interest in wildlife photography. A few years ago I raised £500 for the RSPB by selling greetings cards with my photos on and won the Thomson Habitats Photography Competition.

Great-Spotted Woodpecker: I really like this shot - I think it's quite dramatic because it's silhouetted.
